#1. Some of Your Plants Will Die

As sad as it may be, there is no way around this and the sooner you come to terms with this fact, the sooner you can continue growing your garden. Poor germination, too much rain, bad soil, or not enough water can all affect the way your plants grow. Unfortunately, some of them may die, and that's why it's important to always plant more rather than less!

#2. Weed at Least Once a Week

Weeds can completely take over a garden, and not tending to it can cause your plants to wither, dye, or become ridden with disease. Choose a day of the week when you go into your garden and set aside a few hours simply to weed. Trust us, your plants will thank you!

#3. You Will Accidentally Pull Out Good Plants

It happens to even the best of gardeners:  you will remove good plants and let weeds flourish! It's ok, it happens to everyone, and there is not much you can do about it. Just move on, and keep focusing on your garden.

#4. Some Veggies Are Just Harder to Grow

Some vegetables such as peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, and spinach, are just harder to grow than others. This is often due to the climate, too much water, or not enough water. Whatever your case, know that there are veggies that don't grow as successfully as others! For beginner gardeners, we recommend you plant some of the easiest crops such as potatoes, onions, peas, beans, and zucchini.

#5. There is no “Right Way” to Garden

Everyone will choose to garden a certain way, and just because your neighbor will plant in a raised bed, doesn't mean you necessarily have to as well! Like we mentioned above, there are SO many factors which impact how your garden grows, so do what you feel is right for your type of climate, soil, and sun!

These tips & tricks for beginner gardeners are just a guide, so in the end, try planting different fruits and veggies, and experiment to see what works best for you!

Happy Planting!
